Soooooo, I tried Illustrator.

Huuuggeeee shout out to :iconsilverrainclouds: ~SilverRainclouds who volunteered their time to listen to me rant and rage and scream at my computer while trying to get this silly program to work.

If you want to see some awesome vector work, which is 100% original, then go and check out their gallery! Seriously, it's full of awesome!!

But yeah, Illustrator and all that.

Time Taken: Roughly 2 hours
Program: Illustrator
SVG Download: [link]
Ai Download: [link]

And as always..

Well, I don't know squat about vectoring, so Ill just cover this from a regular anatomical standpoint. The back seems unnaturally dipped; there's a sort of crevasse between her rump and neck that looks a little odd.

I feel like the very bottom edge of her thigh should tip downwards ever so slightly, to better imply the calf's position.

Her foot nearest us looks sort of deflated and flat; I don't remember how it looks in the reference, but it's a tad strange here. Her far foot, meanwhile looks rather big and chunky in comparison.

Her front leg placed on the ground is slightly too short, and placed pretty oddly; it's coming more or less from the middle of her neck, and it's only 2/3 the length of her other "arm." I'd recommend bending it at the "elbow" and putting the hoof on the ground in front of her. That way, it can sprout from her body rather than her neck. Speaking of spouting from the neck, the far arm does this too, but not as badly.

Something about her expression seems kind of stiff... it might be her mouth, or her eyes. It might be that it's not entirely clear what she's feeling. Is she confused? Frustrated? Lost in thought? The expression here is all of these, and none. Try playing with the curvature of her eyebrow, and fiddle with the mouth.

Her ear seems a bit straight and pointy, but I'm not so sure on that part.

Her tail goes down below where her body does; unless she's sitting on a mattress, this shouldn't make sense.

I'd rotate her cutie mark every so slightly counterclockwise, to better agree with her thigh.

Whoo, I got to let out some of my /r/MLPDrawingschool steam on DeviantART! What a rush—this was actually a bit smaller than most of the critiques I make there. Welp, hope I was helpful. I'd love to answer any questions of yours!

Stars—

Vision: Well, it's from a show reference, so not much to say there.

Originality: Same thing as vision in this case.

Technique: Lovely! Looks great, y'know, aside from everything I addressed up there.

Impact: I have no idea what this means.

Questions!

1. What program were you using before Illustrator?
2. Which of these 2 programs do you find easier to learn?
3. How in the world did you pay for Illustrator?
4. How do you draw your Ponies?
